F. Javier Ferreira M.D., Ph.D.


Javier Ferreira M.D received his degree in Medicine and Surgery from the Universidad Autonoma de Madrid in 1995, and later obtained his Ph.D. degree from the Universidad Complutense de Madrid, with cum laude qualification.

 

After finishing his training as a Resident Physician at the Guadalajara University Hospital, he undertook several training periods in the fields of microsurgery and hand and wrist surgery

Throughout his more than 25 years of professional career, he has focused his activity in the field of upper limb surgery, with special attention to hand and wrist surgery.

 

In addition, in the last 10 years he has grown an interest in the application of musculoskeletal ultrasound in the daily practice of his specialty and in its use as a support for the implementation of ecoguided biological treatments, becoming a reference in both fields.

 

He currently works in the public health sector, as an orthopedic surgeon inadie the Hand & Upper Extremity Surgery  at Unit the Guadalajara University Hospital, with special dedication to hand and wrist surgery, reconstructive surgery and microsurgery. Within the private health sector, he works as a consultant in Hand and Wrist Pathology at the San Rafael University Hospital, and as a specialist in Upper Extremity Pathology at the D-Medical Centre.
